Conejos River System Gauging Stations Project
Category: Irrigation Infrastructure
Organization: Conejos Water Conservancy District
Date Approved: March 2012
Basin Funds: $20,000
State Funds: $387,280
This project was designed to address discrepancies found by the Colorado Division of Water Resources between forecasts and the actual flows particularly on the Conejos System. The funds from this grant have been used to install 72 electronic gauging stations and to automate the four control gates on the Conejos system. The sites that were chosen were the Headsmill, North Branch, Manassa and Romero diversions.
