This project improved water administration on the Conejos River by installing automation and more accurate gauging technology on the Romero-Mogote-Northeastern system. Sixteen measuring weirs, combined with a gauging and telemetry system on major laterals, were installed to more accurately quantify flows and identify return flows. In addition, the project included the replacement of the Romero headgate with a new 12-foot automated radial gate.
