This project protected and restored important wetland, riparian and aquatic habitat surrounding the Rio Grande State Wildlife Area. These lands are watered by a siphon off of the Empire Canal, which was threatened by nearby eroding banks. This project used streambank stabilization and riparian restoration to mitigate the threat that the wetlands might lose their irrigation.
